The Alderson Family

We’re Kerry and Selena Alderson, married since 2000, and grateful parents to three amazing kids: Keinan, Owen, and Avery. Our sons attend the University of Oregon and are actively involved in a vibrant college ministry called The Salt Co. at Generations Church in Eugene. Our daughter, Avery, is studying at BIOLA University in Los Angeles, pursuing both God’s word and her dream of becoming a scientist.

We stepped into youth ministry immediately after getting married, before we even had children, and we’ve spent the last 20+ years serving in both full-time and part-time ministry roles in our church and community.

We share a deep love for God’s Word and His people. Nothing brings us more joy than helping believers trust God’s plan, walk in His truth, and follow Scripture as the lamp that lights their path. Early in our marriage, we committed to living on mission: using our home as a place to SHINE God’s goodness, hospitality, and hope.

We both have spent time in public schools as a teacher, coach, and Selena currently as a school counselor. Professionally, we both have backgrounds in education. We each hold a Master’s degree in our field, but more importantly, we are lifelong learners who love studying Scripture and encouraging others with God’s truth.

We feel incredibly blessed to see all three of our children passionate about their faith and pursuing both their education and ministry in their own communities.

Below, we’ve included a short video that offers a glimpse into a season of intentional outreach in our neighborhood; one of the ways we chose to SHINE the light of Christ right where we live.

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here.

LIGHT in the dark: flipping trap houses into gospel houses

After hearing in youth group about girls in our community being taken advantage of in drug and party houses, we decided to be a light in the dark. We sold our home, took all our savings, and bought a house as close to the local high school as possible. We gave away thousands of tacos, had hundreds of students, and youth night pool parties, to let GOD SHINE IN THE DARK!
